Question 1

How is a Shopify order created in Visma.net?

Accepted Answer

When an order is created and paid in Shopify, a sales order is created in Visma.net with the right customer, articles, prices, VAT and shipping address. At shipment or invoicing, the invoice is generated according to your rules in Visma.net. The full accounting flow — revenue accounts, VAT accounts, accounts receivable — is handled by Visma.net according to your existing chart of accounts and bookkeeping rules.

How are articles and stock synchronized between Visma.net and Shopify?

Accepted Answer

Visma.net is the master for articles, stock levels and prices. When you add a new product in Visma.net it is created in Shopify with the correct name, description, price and stock. Price changes or stock updates in Visma.net — e.g. after a receipt or a price adjustment — reach Shopify without manual intervention. This avoids the classic errors where webshop and ERP show different numbers.

Can B2B customers get their contract prices from Visma.net in Shopify?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Visma.net has native support for customer-specific prices and price lists, which separates it from pure accounting systems. When a B2B customer signs into Shopify, the integration can use the customer’s ERP ID to fetch the right price list or discounts from Visma.net. B2B customers can also get different payment terms from B2C — e.g. net 30 on invoice — and credit checks against Visma.net before the order goes through.

Does the integration handle EU VAT, OSS and multiple currencies?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You map EU countries to the right sales accounts and VAT codes in Visma.net for OSS reporting. Visma.net has built-in multi-currency support, so prices and invoices can be handled in the customer’s currency with exchange rates that update automatically. For merchants with EU sales, this means the full OSS accounting is handled in the same system as the rest of the bookkeeping.

What happens when a customer returns an order?

Accepted Answer

When a refund is processed in Shopify, a credit note is created in Visma.net linked to the original order, and stock is adjusted if the article is returned. The amount is reversed according to your rules in Visma.net and accounts receivable is updated. Partial refunds are supported and create proportional credit notes.

Question 6

How are payouts from payment providers reconciled in Visma.net?

Accepted Answer

If you use Shopify Payments, Klarna, Adyen or similar, payouts are reconciled automatically against the corresponding invoices in Visma.net via a separate payment-provider connector. Fees are booked as write-offs on a dedicated account. This lets you book the net amount that hits the bank and account for transaction fees separately — without doing the math manually.

Question 7

Can I sync historical orders from Shopify to Visma.net?

Accepted Answer

Yes. From Junipeer you can run a one-time sync of previous Shopify orders to Visma.net based on a date range or specific order IDs. Useful during migration from another system or at a system switchover. Note that date handling differs between systems — Shopify uses the order date while Visma.net uses the invoice date.

Who owns stock levels — Shopify or Visma.net?

Accepted Answer

Visma.net is the master for stock levels. Stock is pushed from Visma.net to Shopify, so what shows as available on the store reflects the real balance. This is critical if you sell the same articles across multiple channels — Shopify, physical store, marketplaces, B2B portal — because all channels then read from the same source.

How long does it take to get going?

Accepted Answer

Setup takes about 15 minutes and requires no coding. After that you configure the data mapping against your chart of accounts, your price lists and your payment methods. For larger Visma.net installations with complex flows (multiple subsidiaries, custom fields, special rules), configuration takes longer — in those cases we offer guided onboarding via chat and email.
