Getting Started with Junipeer: A Q&A with Mac

Thinking about connecting your store to your ERP, WMS, payments or POS, but not sure how heavy the setup will be? We sat down with Mac, who leads onboarding and support at Junipeer, to hear what getting started looks like from your side of the table.

What's the very first thing I need to do?

"There is a step zero of everything: you sign up for our free trial. We offer two weeks, free. Without an account, I basically cannot do anything for you. But the moment you create one, I follow it up with exactly the integrations you need."

From there we kick off together. We meet, we show our faces, and we agree on the responsibilities, the timeline, and what we're solving.

Once I'm in, will I have to figure everything out on my own?

"No! And this is my favourite part. Inside app.junipeer.io there's a tab called 'Get Started.' It's a magic tab. I never saw it before in SaaS, but it fits the onboarding so well, because it shows every single step of onboarding directly in the interface. You don't need to search for any specific configuration on your own, it's laid out right in front of you."

How much configuration are we really talking about?

"My philosophy is to be minimalistic. There's a lot you could configure, but for onboarding I let only the essentials become relevant. And we mark those clearly as 'required settings.' So you pay attention to a small, labelled set, not a hundred switches."

And the data flows: orders, customers, prices? "By default I switch all of them on, then we simply turn off whatever your business doesn't need. It's just like marking a few flags."

What about connecting my existing systems?

"This is the real milestone: making your services green. We connect your platforms with their keys and credentials so they start talking to each other, and we double-check that we're fetching your data properly."

Some connectors are genuinely light. "Svea, for example, is offered free, and it's one of the easiest connectors in our portfolio. In the best case you configure it within an hour or two. Once your services are green, we're open to configuring, testing, and going live."

How do I know it works before it's live?

"We test together. When the test passes, we set up the automation - say, sending your orders every ten minutes between systems - and that's the moment the service goes live. Then we monitor the outcome and validate it with you. We make sure it's good."

And if I get stuck?

"I'm always up there. The closer we get to your go-live, the more available I am. I can move my calendar, I give you my phone number, and I respond to emails within an hour or so. And it doesn't end at go-live. Nurturing and supporting is part of this business, so I stay with you."
