Onboarding at Junipeer has just reached a new level with an amazing Mac, aka Macjej Macjejewski, joining our team. While he already rushed into holding the client conversations and solving the technical questions with the speed of a Sonic, let's get to know the man behind the superhero mask.

The Journey

Mac’s journey into tech wasn’t exactly linear and that’s what makes it worth sharing.

Tell us about your background and experience.

My path was surprisingly diverse. I've been a bartender, sushi master, teacher, phd candidate, support consultant, event manager, wine seller - good grief! I've finally found my calling in the e-commerce industry thanks to Ingrid.

A career path as diverse as a well-integrated tech stack! We love to see it.

What Drew You to Junipeer?

Every great onboarding PM needs curiosity, drive, and a certain fascination for how systems talk to each other.

What attracted you to Junipeer?

Lukas, haha! But more specific: I was always fascinated with integrations and an opportunity to become well versed with its tech just steals the cake for me.

A Typical Week as an Onboarding PM

Integration never sleeps, and neither does the learning curve when you join a fast-moving team.

What does a typical week look like for you at Junipeer?

Currently it's mostly soaking knowledge with my brain sponge. But other than that, it's investigating support queries, processing business requirements and implementing connectors for new and existing partners.

Don't be shy, Mac. Mac ìs already deep in the integration trenches.

Advice to Brands Preparing for Integration

The onboarding position is far more complicated than it may seem at first sight. It requires an excellent understanding of both the client journey and tech.

What advice would you give to brands preparing for a system integration?

Make sure to have a Subject Matter Expert on your side. It's difficult to build this role over night, but delegating somebody who isn't afraid of mid-level tech and making them the "first mate of integrations" will turn your ecosystem from a wild jungle to a tamed and docile environment.

A 'first mate of integrations.' We might just steal that title.
