Does my AI app work with Junipeer?

Your AI app works with Junipeer if it can add a remote MCP server by URL and sign in with OAuth. Check for these three things:

  1. 1
    Remote MCP servers.

The app connects to a server at a web address. Apps that only run local MCP servers on your computer won't work.

  2. 2
    Streamable HTTP.

The current standard for remote MCP. Most apps that support remote servers use it.

  3. 3
    OAuth sign-in.

The app opens a browser window to sign in, instead of asking you to paste a key.

If your app's settings have an option like "Add custom connector", "Add MCP server" or "Custom MCP" with a field for a URL, it most likely works.

Set up MCP in Junipeer

1

Add MCP to the workspace

In the Junipeer app, go to Integrations. Under Add an MCP server, click Browse MCP servers for one system, such as Fortnox, or click Enable under Workspace MCP to let your AI app work with all your integrations. You're billed from the day you add it.

Stuck on this step?

If your app later shows "This workspace has no MCP. Add Workspace MCP or an MCP server", this step is missing. Add MCP under Subscriptions and connect again.

Switch on AI apps

Click your initials at the top right and choose My workspaces. Under the section named after your workspace, for example Company AB settings, switch on AI apps (MCP).

Stuck on this step?

If your app later shows "AI apps are switched off for your workspace", an owner needs to switch them on here.

Create a sign-in key

Click your initials → Account Settings → API keys → New API key. Choose People sign in with it and give it a name, such as "My AI app". Under Apps that may sign in, keep Any app, or choose Only these apps to allow only your app. Under Quick setup, choose a level in the AI assistant row, for example Look and explain. Click Create API key.

  3. Also run jobsPlus start and re-run syncs
  4. Also write to your systemsPlus create and change data in connected systems
Stuck on this step?

If your app later shows "None of your workspaces has a key that lets this app sign in", either no sign-in key exists, or the key is set to "Only these apps" without your app. Edit the key and add your app, or choose Any app.

In the key list, access is shown as permissions, for example integrations:read.

A Junipeer page opens: sign in with your Junipeer account, pick the key and click Allow.

Stuck on this step?

"Your account is not a member of the organisation this app belongs to": you're signed in with the wrong Junipeer account. Sign in with another, or ask that workspace's admin to add you.

"Your session ended" or "This request did not come from the consent page": start the connection again from your app.

Switch it on in a chat

If the app asks you to choose tools per conversation, switch Junipeer on. Then ask, for example:

“Use Junipeer to list my integrations and their status.”

Which other AI apps can I use?

Junipeer has step-by-step pages for Claude, ChatGPT and the main coding tools. For other apps, here's what we know. We haven't tested these with Junipeer ourselves yet, so tell us how it goes.

Mistral Le Chat

Le Chat supports custom MCP connectors and detects OAuth on its own.

  1. 1.In Le Chat, open Connectors and click + Add Connector.
  2. 2.Switch to Custom MCP Connector.
  3. 3.Name it junipeer (no spaces) and paste as the server URL.
  4. 4.Click Connect, sign in with Junipeer, pick the key and click Allow.

In Le Chat, only admins can add custom connectors. On personal plans, the account owner is the admin.

Microsoft Copilot

Microsoft Copilot can connect to MCP servers through Copilot Studio, which is set up by an admin in your Microsoft environment. We haven't tested Junipeer with Copilot yet. If you'd like to use it, contact us and we'll set it up with you.

Using GitHub Copilot in VS Code? That's covered on the Developer tools page.

Other MCP clients

Any app that meets the three requirements above should work with the connection details on this page. If yours doesn't, contact us: we're adding step-by-step pages for the apps our customers use.

Stuck? Errors and fixes

Most problems show up as a message from Junipeer during sign-in, or as an app that can't reach the server.

Permissions, data and pricing

Your AI app can only do what your API key allows, and the key's level is the hard limit: a "Look and explain" key can't change anything.

Approvals depend on your app.

Junipeer marks every action as read-only or changing, and most MCP clients use that to ask before running a change. Check your app's settings, and keep approvals on for changing actions. Junipeer also instructs the AI to explain each change and wait for your yes.

Your logins stay with Junipeer.

Your AI app never sees the passwords or tokens for Fortnox, Klarna or other systems.

Junipeer keeps no copy of your requests.

The MCP server has no database and no request logs.

Changes leave a trace

in the integration's change history, marked as coming from MCP with the key that was used.
